Pierre Latour: “It feels good anyway”
“I missed out on the victory, but that’s how it goes. I wasn’t off by much. This day also proves that I am getting better. The sensations are much better. It’s been a long time that I have been having trouble getting back to form, and it would have made me very happy to win. Yesterday we missed the break and it was important to make up for that today. We ended up with three at the front including Clément (Venturini) and Geoffrey (Bouchard). Geoffrey was able to score more points for the climber’s jersey, and then at the end of the stage, he rode himself inside-out for me. There are some nice opportunities still to come, and I really want to raise my arms in victory before the end of this Vuelta.”PIERRE LATOUR
First podium for Pierre Latour
After his sixth place in the time trial on the 10th stage, Pierre Latour has scored his first podium of the season during this 13th stage of the Vuelta a Espana.
At the front in the break all day, Geoffrey Bouchard is still in second place in the King of the Mountains classification. However, he is only two points behind Angel Madrazo.
