PIERRE LATOUR : "A great team to kick off with"
"The winter went off without a hitch and I had a lot of fun. I have accumulated many weeks of training, whether at home, or at a training camp in the south of France as well as the camp in Spain with the team. After two seasons racing in Australia this time of year, I am happy to return to the French races as a way to get the season started again. I have already participated three times in the Etoile de Bessèges and I have finished in the top ten each time (4th in 2017). Honestly, I am not setting myself a specific goal. I want to find the rhythm of the races, get back with my friends, and we'll see what the rest will bring. The first stages can be tricky and you have to be careful. We have a great team to kick off the season, so there will be things we can definitely do.”PIERRE LATOUR
During the training camp in Altea (Spain) that went from January 16th to the 24th, the AG2R LA MONDIALE team accumulated 15,168 vertical meters of climbing over the course of 958 kilometers and 32.34 hours in the saddle.
Delayed return for Nans Peters
Originally scheduled to take part in the GP La Marseillaise (February 2), Nans Peters’ return to racing has been postponed until the Tour La Provence (February 13-16). Doctor Eric Bouvat, head team doctor for the AG2R LA MONDIALE team, diagnosed him last November with mononucleosis. However, overall, his recovery has been favorable.
