Romain Bardet : 4th for the stage, 9th overall (+1’41”)
ROMAIN BARDET: “WE WILL TAKE OUR RESPONSIBILITIES”
“This was a very difficult stage. It took a while for the break to get away. We were riding very fast. This was not a stage you could work your way into. Everyone did some good work. The finishing climb was pretty short, for punchy riders. When Julian made his move, I knew it would be hard to overtake him for the win.
The Sky riders are well placed, but we will take on our responsibilities. Pierre is also in a good position, and is on fire. That gives us two very strong cards to play. And with a strong team, we can make things happen. If the race in the next few days is off the hook like today was, then it will be quite a show.”ROMAIN BARDET
Pierre Latour : 5th for the stage, 11th overall (+1’49”)
PIERRE LATOUR: “HAPPY WITH THE WHOLE TEAM’S WORK”
“The team placed us well over the top of the Mont Noir climb, and then Oliver still came back to help us at the bottom of the last climb. We were royally placed. I did not feel crazy good, but I braved the day. I’m happy with the job we did for Romain. I did not get dropped, and then I “jumped” my opponents at the line to get a good place on the stage. “PIERRE LATOUR
