JAN BAKELANTS: "RACES WHERE I’VE BEEN SUCCESSFUL"

Grands Prix Cyclistes Québec and Montréal (Sept. 8th and 10th)

“I am happy to be participating in the Grands Prix Cyclistes Québec and Montréal because these are races where I have been successful. After the BinckBank Tour, I had a two week training camp in Livigno, Italy, and worked very hard. This gave me a chance to take a step back from racing and get back into good shape.
I have recovered well from the Tour de France, and I hope to have good legs in the coming weeks.
The trip to Québec signals the start of a period of the season that motivates me a lot, with many races in Italy and especially the Tour of Lombardy (September 30th).
This year the finish is once again in Como, and I really like that finale.”

THE NUMBER: 4

Jan Bakelants is participating for the fourth time at the Grands Prix Cyclistes Québec and Montréal. In 2015, he finished fourth in the GP Montréal. That remains the best result for the AG2R LA MONDIALE team in the Québec races since the creation of these two events in 2010.

THE NEWS: BAGDONAS REPLACES DUPONT

Gediminas Bagdonas will replace Hubert Dupont, who was originally scheduled to participate in Québec.
Hubert crashed on August 31st in training, and suffered an acromo-clavicular disjunction of the right shoulder.
In addition to that, Bagdonas’ contract has been extended through the 2018 season.
