Romain Bardet : "A lot of fun"

Tour de France / Stage 15 : Romain Bardet still third overall

Stage : 33rd (+6'25'')
Overall : 3rd (+23'')

“The plan was to take advantage of a stage and a parcours that I know well, and we wanted to put our closest competitors under pressure.I definitely want to salute my teammates who did a phenomenal job.I had a lot of fun, and I also want to thank the fans on the side of the road who gave me so much support that carried me to the finish. We can really be proud of what we did today. There are still six fantastic stages to go; we have to remain humble: we are competing in the most beautiful race in the world.”

JAN BAKELANTS :  "I HOPED TO PLAY THE WIN"

Stage : 8th (+1'04'')
Overall : 25th (+39'19'')

“I was going for the stage win, but in the middle of all those climbers, it was pretty complicated for me. Over the col de Peyra Taillade, I climbed at my own pace.I was hoping to play for the win, but Mollema was too strong today and he was already ahead. I'm glad to have been able to be in the mix today.I checked this route already. But now I am completely at the service of Romain.”

JULIEN JURDIE : "WE KNEW WHERE TO PUT OUR WHEELS"

“Romain had this stage marked, and we decided to turn on the afterburner during the technical section. We knew where to put our wheels. This shows that the AG2R LA MONDIALE team is really ready to take our responsibilities, and we are not afraid to try new things. There are three stages left where we can try to shake up the overall standings. It is always good for the confidence to be able to animate the race as we were able to do today.”
