Classic Loire Atlantic (march 18th)

“I finished the first block of my season with my first UCI WorldTour race, the Strade Bianche. That was an incredible experience. It is such a great race, with a superb course, huge fan support, and magnificent scenery.
I loved it. I found myself in a group of dropped riders like Nibali and Uran, which was the first time I was racing alongside champions of that caliber.
In the first races of the year, I had trouble finding the rhythm of a pro peloton. The whole brawl at the beginning of a race when everyone is trying to get into the break, and then again in the last hour and a half when we’re riding hard to catch the break and play for the victory… that riding is so much different compared to anything I experienced in the amateur ranks.
I feel that I am getting better and better at it, though, and I am looking forward to the Classic Loire Atlantique. It is a circuit event, but still very lively.
With Samuel Dumoulin, we have real ambitions to do well. Then I will be off to discover the Flandrian classics with Dwars door Vlaanderen (À Travers les Flandres) and the GP E3 (March 22nd and 24th).”

Clément Chevrier will return to competition after his crash in the last stage of the Tour La Provence on February 23rd, where he suffered from a slight trauma to the head.
After one week’s rest, he participated in the mini-training camp some other members of the team at La Londe les Maures (Var) last week.
“It was a good camp, and an ideal way to get the right sensations back,” he explained.

The Classic Loire Atlantique is the second round of the Coupe de France PMU.
Three of our riders are in the top 10 of the current rankings: Mikaël Chérel (6th, 16 points), Hubert Dupont (8th, 12 points) and defending champion Samuel Dumoulin (10th, 8 points).
